What should be dress code for women appearing for interviews? Everyone knows that it should be a formal dress, but does it have to be Western? what can Indian women wear for formal meetings/interviews, if they are not comfortable with the Western clothing styles?

It is so hot these days. I certainly dont want to be wearing a jacket or a business suit with layers on it! Even a sari is not much suitable as it leaves too much skin open for tanning. I prefer a cotton suit (salwar/churidar with kameez) anyday. Just go for a neutral color with not too much adornment on it.

It really depends on the company where you are going for the interview. If it is a big MNC type, then formal trousers witha shirt will work really well. But if it is a smaller operation, then you should avoid Western as it may not be in keeping with the company's culture. Sari is fine anywhere. Suit dupatta is also not bad.
